Tokelau Police Investigation Course Completed

29 June 2015

Tokelau Police has just completed the Investigation workshop earlier this month held on each village.

The training highlighted training in assessing crime scene and further more recapping on previous training and progress on the outcome of the work. The officers found the refresher course quite encouraging and motivated them to carry out the work.

The outcome of the training was found successful, according to the New Zealand Police, Superintendent Murray Lewis.

“Reaction from the officers was very positive, and there were a number of positive comments. All of the officers responded in a positive manner, and I am very pleased with the result”, says New Zealand Police, Superintendent Murray Lewis.

“The training and mentoring is ongoing, there will be further training later in the year. The topic of this training will be negotiated with the Tokelau Legal Advisor but I am pretty sure that part of it will be family violence. An important aspect is to go over all we have covered to date just as a refresher and to make sure the officers are complying with the rules around things like how to use a note book and how to take a statement”, the Superintendent.
