GOVERNMENT OF TOKELAU
EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

The Government of Tokelau intends to redevelop its Savalalo property in Apia, Samoa. The property currently accommodates various government departments located in three separate buildings, an office, a fale for Tokelau residents to meet and stay before they depart to Tokelau and a warehouse facility used for storing a variety of goods to transport via cargo ship to Tokelau. It is seeking to demolish the existing buildings to develop a new Office and Warehouse facility.

At this stage it is inviting established Architectural and Engineering practices based in the Pacific to submit an Expressions of Interest at this stage. Established practices in Apia, Samoa are preferred but this will be dependant on the quality of their submission.

The process is

1. Submission of Expression of Interest by 21 June 2008
2. A Panel will select three practices from the list of submissions received by the due date. These practices will be provided with a Terms of Reference and invited to develop a Concept design for the project
3. All designs submitted will become the property of the Government of Tokelau
4. Closing date for the completion of the Terms of Reference and Concept Design is 18 July 2008
5. The Selection panel will then review, discuss and nominate a successful practice by 25 July 2008 to take the project to the next stage
