Tokelau meet with Vice Chancellor of USP to Improve Education

The Vice-Chancellor and President of The University of the South Pacific, Professor Rajesh Chandra met the Ulu o Tokelau, Aliki Faipule Siopili Perez during his visit last month. They discussed how both sides could improve education in Tokelau through strengthening USP centre in island.
 
Tokelau currently has three campuses for the University of the South Pacific on island. There is only one satellite dish installed for students to get direct access to academic resources from the main USP Laucala campus in Suva, Fiji.
 
The University of the South Pacific highlighted during the discussions their support to work in collaboration with Tokelau to have satellite dishes installed for the campuses in the islands by June 2015.
 
Tokelau has currently 35 students studying at the Laucala Campus in Suva, Fiji and 69 students undertaking courses in the preliminary, degree and foundation level in campuses in Tokelau.
