Tokelau signs up as 12th member of PIDF

27 April 2016

Today the Ulu o Tokelau, Aliki Faipule Afega Gaualofa, signed the Charter of the Pacific Islands Development Forum (PIDF). This makes Tokelau the 12th member of PIDF, and the first territory to sign the PIDF Charter.

Faipule Afega acknowledged the support from New Zealand in supporting Tokelau's intentions to strategically approach issues pertaining to Climate Change, Disaster Vulnerabilities and Ocean.

Tokelau hopes to leverage this opportunity to access and network resources that would have been challenging to obtain on its own as a territory.
