Tokelau featured on the SPC Compendium Case Studies on Climate and Disaster Resilient Development in the Pacific 2015 Publication.

Tokelau’s mitigating and adaptation effort in building resilience against the growing concerns of climate change impact was featured in the Secretariat of the Pacific Commission (SPC) 2015 Compendium Case Studies on Climate and Disaster Resilient Development in the Pacific Publication.
 
The publication highlighted Tokelau’s Renewable Energy Project, converting from depending on fossil fuel to solar energy. It also highlighted the Water and Sanitation Project with the Pacific Adaptation to Climate Change Plus (PACC+) Programme to improve water security and community resilience.
 
The publication listed various challenges, activities and results with lessons learnt. Tokelau’s Renewable Energy Project successful implementation model was highlighted, and recommended by International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) for similar activities around the region.
 
The compendium showcases programmes and projects from across the Pacific region that address the climate change and disaster risks, through climate change adaptation, disaster risk management and greenhouse gas emissions reduction.
