​Ulu o Tokelau joins 53rd Independence Celebration in Samoa

Ulu o Tokelau, Aliki Faipule Siopili Perez joins His Highness the Head of State, Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi and her highness Filifilia Tamasese in witnessing the beginning of the 53rd Independence celebration with the traditional Samoan fautasi race.
 
All special guests were invited to lunch at the Sails restaurant at Mulinuu, providing a perfect overview of the fautasi boats as they pass by. The Ulu o Tokelau will partake in various activities during his attendance including the official opening with a church ceremony held at the Catholic Church Cathedral at Mulivai and the march pass at the Malae Tiafau at Mulinuu.
 
The Ulu o Tokelau joins other diplomatic guest from American Samoa, Lieutenant Governor, Lemanu Peleti Mauga with his good lady Mrs Peleti Mauga and Prime Minister of Tonga, Hon. Samuela ‘Akilisi Pohiva for the 4 day celebration.
 
The Ulu o Tokelau is accompanied by her highness Taase Perez with support from the Tokelau Liaison Office in Apia.
