NUKUNONU’s SOLAR ARRAY SYSTEM: Tokelau is the first nation in the world to become 100% renewable energy dependent.

A new plan will not change Tokelau’s aspiration, values and priorities; rather enforcing it to focus on urgent delivery of key results in the Tokelau National Strategic Plan 2010-2015 (TNSP).

The new plan idea was agreed to by each Taupulega (village council) after the New Zealand Foreign Affairs Minister, Murray McCully highlighted the need for a consolidated approach by New Zealand and Tokelau Government in addressing key issues and ensuring results and outcomes are urgently met.

The team conducting the work is led by the Ulu o Tokelau, Aliki Faipule Kuresa Nasau and Administrator of Tokelau, Jonathan Kings.

The plan would be considered by the General Fono (Parliament) in December.
