Best All Round for Tokelauan Officer

Police-Graduate1Tokelau officer recruited in the Samoa Police Basic Recruitment course in Apia receives best all rounder for 2011.
Four officers from Tokelau were recruited into the course all graduated with Poni Simi receiving the best all round.
Certificates were awarded to the officers, at the Sports complex at Togaimato gym one. Commissioner of Police Lilomaiava told the graduates to use the skills they had acquired in the appropriate manner.
He challenged them to use their new skills and knowledge to improve their work.
Commissioner of Corrections Lieutenant Colonel Ifereimi Vasu congratulated the efforts of the young corrections officers, saying they had done the service proud and ask them to be honest ask serving the people.
There were over 300 applicants who applied to the course with only 62 approved and only 52 officers graduated.
Officers from Tokelau were Poni Simi, Safiti Gaualofa, Aleki Manuele and Viliamu Iosefa.
All officers have return to Tokelau and immediately be on service.

About Tokelau


Tokelau consists of three atolls located about 483 km north of Western Samoa. Atafu is the northernmost atoll, 92 km north of Nukunonu, which in turn lies 64 km north of Fakaofo.

Each atoll consist of a number of reef-bound islets (motu) encircling a lagoon. The islets vary in size from 90 m to 6 km in length and from a few metres to 200 metres in width. The largest atoll is Nukunonu at 4.7 sq km. Fakaofo and Atafu are 4 sq km and 3.5 sq km respectively. From Atafu in the north to Fakaofo in the south, the group extends for just under 200 km. The atolls are three to five metres above sea level.
