Tokelau Language Curriculum and Assessment Coordinator Department of Education


The Department of Education’s five-year strategic plan, has at the forefront of its strategic
goals, “a thriving Tokelau language and culture.” The Tokelau Language Strategy gives
value to the importance of Tokelau language and culture as enablers in building students’
resilience. The role of the Tokelau Language Curriculum Coordinator is critical to building an
environment in which the language thrives and in which students build a deeper knowledge
of who they are.

Applications are invited for a qualified and experienced person to lead and coordinate
effectively the initiatives and strategies to achieve the expected outcomes for Tokelau
language in education settings.

Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Tokelau Language Curriculum and Assessment review and development
2. Tokelau language resources development
3. School-based professional development
4. Tokelau language qualifications development

The position is contracted for 3 years and will be based at one of the schools on Tokelau.
